Last August, Keys School Manila kicked off the year with engaging activities that got everyone ready for a great year ahead. From meeting new teachers to learning about new routines, here’s a look at the highlights of our return to school.
Meet-Up With Parents: Building Connections and Setting Expectations
Teacher Den Soriano, one of the Grade 2 Class Advisers, posed with the parents during the Meet-Up.
On August 9, Keys School Manila hosted a welcoming event where parents had the opportunity to connect with their children's advisers and subject teachers. This Meet-Up provided a valuable platform for parents to gain insights into what the upcoming school year has in store. It was a chance for them to voice any questions or concerns, ensuring a smooth transition into the new academic year. The day was not only informative but also enjoyable, with a delightful spread of refreshments that facilitated lively conversations and strengthened the bonds between parents and teachers.
Teachers Juano Santos and Dannie Pineda led the Meet-Up for the Grade 1 families.
Teacher Gabo de Jesus and some parents relished the food provided during the Meet-Up.
Orientation Week: A Fun and Informative Kickoff
From August 12 to 15, the school buzzed with energy as students stepped back into their classrooms for Orientation Week. With a half-day schedule, students were introduced to essential school routines and any new changes for the year. Key topics covered included attendance monitoring, homework policies, entry and exit times, and the process for borrowing library books. Each adviser took the opportunity to highlight important aspects of their curriculum and daily procedures, ensuring students were well-prepared for the year ahead.
Like all other levels, this Grade 3 class also had their Orientation session with one of their class advisers/subject teachers, Teacher Copy de Dios.
But it wasn't all business—Orientation Week was also filled with fun activities designed to spark enthusiasm and build camaraderie among students. From engaging classroom games to creative teacher-made photo booths, the activities added a touch of excitement and helped students ease back into the school routine with smiles on their faces.
These Keys students showed great focus and enjoyment as they engaged with individual and group tasks during the Orientation Week.
Looking Ahead: A Year Full of Potential
As we embark on this new school year, the excitement and optimism within our school community are palpable. The connections made between parents and teachers, along with the engaging start to the academic year, set a positive tone for the months ahead. At Keys School Manila, we believe that collaboration and communication are key to a successful school year, and we look forward to nurturing each student's growth and development throughout the year.
Here’s to a fantastic year ahead filled with learning, growth, and memorable moments!
