Back to School, to Values: Living the Keys Student Profile

This academic year, as students return, they are joining a community based on five fundamental principles that characterize our educational process: respect, inquiry, collaboration, excellence, and social justice (RICES).  The first few weeks are not just about getting settled; they are a purposeful journey of meaningful activities that help you connect with these values.

Identity Maps

Students respect each other's individual journeys and their own stories as they discover and share who they are. As students share and discuss their personal narratives, this activity naturally fosters collaboration while generating inquiry through thought-provoking questions about identity.

Cross-Curricular Connection

Math problems that call for teamwork, science experiments that provoke inquiry, language arts that examine social justice, and artistic endeavors that honor excellence are all interwoven in our welcome packets. Every packet demonstrates to students how all learning is connected to our values.

IB Bootcamp

Students take part in activities that push them to think critically, collaborate across cultural divides, approach problems with inquiry, pursue excellence in analytical thinking, and think about social justice locally and globally. Students who complete the bootcamp are prepared to be considerate global citizens.

Weeklong Classroom Orientation

By having meaningful conversations, teachers and students work together to set expectations for the classroom. These sessions demonstrate excellence in classroom management, foster inquiry by asking questions about learning guidelines, and uphold social justice by valuing everyone's opinions.

Buwan ng Wika Launch

Respect for cultural heritage is exemplified by our Specialists Orientation, which kicks off National Language Month. Students actively investigate Filipino customs, strive for excellence through group cultural presentations, and consider the relationship between social justice, cultural equity, and language preservation.

Secondary School Leadership Development

Through our batch representative elections, secondary school students assume significant leadership roles. Since each student has an equal voice and vote, this democratic process exemplifies social justice. Candidates practice Excellence in presenting their platforms while demonstrating Respect for the electoral process and their peers. After being elected, representatives collaborate with the school administration to promote constructive changes in their learning community after conducting inquiries to learn about the needs and worries of their peers.

University Fair

Students explore their future academic pathways through interactions with representatives from prestigious institutions. Local universities such as University of Santo Tomas, Ateneo de Manila University, Southville International School, Enderun Colleges, iAcademy, Mapua University, SOFA Design Institute, University of Asia and the Pacific, and De La Salle College of St. Benilde shared their programs and opportunities with our students. International institutions like Hong Kong Polytechnic University also participated, broadening students' global perspectives. This experience embodies inquiry as students ask thoughtful questions about their future, collaboration as they engage with peers and university representatives, and excellence as they explore pathways to achieve their academic goals.

The Keys Student Profile comes to life as we observe students completing these tasks. We witness inquiry in their thoughtful questions, collaboration across grade levels, excellence in their commitment to learning, respect in the way they listen to one another, and hope as they wrestle with social justice and their part in bringing about positive change.

Our students are living the Keys Student Profile, not just learning about it. Together, we're laying the groundwork for them to grow into the considerate, competent, and compassionate leaders our world needs.
